There are five files included in this subsection, and they are arranged alphabetically. The Accreditation file includes an application for accreditation dated in 1950, correspondence dating between 1951-1953 congratulating Henry Olson on the accreditation as well as the self-study, an announcement about being accepted into the North Central Association, and copies of the self-study are included from 1950-1952. A list of the purposes of the self-study and reasons why the study was needed are included in this file. A report to the North Central Accreditation Board of Review by Henry Olson and the sources of income for Buena Vista College from 1946-1951 is included as well. The Administrative file includes an organizational chart that details how the college was structured. Also included: a list of requirements needed for graduation and a piece of ephemera titled “Why Buena Vista College?” The Board of Trustees file includes a copy of the November 2, 1953, Special Meeting and a resolution of the Board of Trustees commending Henry Olson for his years of service. The Buildings file includes a contract for the E.W. Oats Company to reshingle the gymnasium roof, a piece of ephemera detailing the planned expansion program for a women’s dormitory, and a report of the current buildings in 1951 as well as their worth. The Iowa College Foundation file includes a list of businesses from Sioux City, Iowa, Omaha, Nebraska, and Alton, Iowa, who might serve as prospective donors to the foundation. Correspondence is also included between1953-1954 from W. D. Wesselink, J. D. Ylviasaker, Samuel N. Stevens, and other administrators on a range of topics like the amount of contributions given to the foundation and advertisements sent out. Also a list of representatives from each county is included.
