Bush, George, 1924-2018

This collection contains programs from each year the lecture series was held, documents detailing the planning of the event, copies of the recordings, assorted emphera, correspondence, and clippings. A drawing by Pam McGinnis, copyright 1999 (6/50) showing the tenth anniversary (1989-1999) of speakers is included in an oversized box.

Photographs from the lecture series are found in the Photographs collection.

This series includes photographs of people who were neither an employee of nor a student at Buena Vista, but who appeared on campus for some occasion. It also includes photographs of Buena Vista trustees. Politicians and political candidates who visited Buena Vista while seeking office or who appeared for American Heritage Lecture Series (AHLS) are also included in this series.

Briscoe invited then-Vice President George H. W. Bush to attend the dedication of the Harold Walter Siebens School of Business and Siebens Forum on October 3, 1985. The Vice-President declined, although he on campus later appeared on campus in 1999 as the speaker for the William W. Siebens American Heritage Lecture Series (AHLS).
