Notes and background on the American Heritage Lecture Series. Also a transcript of remarks by President Bill Clinton and a speech by Colin Powell on the occasion of his retirement from the Army in 1993. Powell was an AHLS speaker in 2000.
Also included are photocopied pages 32-37 from Foundations for the Second Century that relate to American Heritage Lecture Series (AHLS). The researcher will also discover a pocket-sized United States Constitution.
The folder also contains research materials and correspondence relating to ideas for speakers and topics.

Historical Note
The William W. Siebens American Heritage Lecture Series (known more commonly as the American Heritage Lecture Series or AHLS) was officially instituted during the 1988-1989 academic year, but plans for it had been part of the original Siebens Proposal in 1979.
