Historical Note
The library expansion project was initially called the Information Technology Center because computing services were intended to be housed within the expansion. This did not ultimately happen and the library was called the Buena Vista University Library. People still referred to it as Ballou Library also, but in fact, it ceased to be the Ballou Library at that point because the Ballou family were not donors to the project.
In 2020, the library was remodeled to include the Center for Academic Excellence (CAE) and computing services (often called 2FIX), and at that time, it came close to fulfilling its original intention of being the Information Technology Center.
